Högasand's (High Sand's) nature reserve is located in Karlskrona's north-east corner. An undeniably special place, where the ground inside the forest is reminiscent of a sandy beach - but without lakes! To walk between the 300-year-old pine trees in the unique dune landscape is a special experience of nature, that you do not want to miss! In this dry and hot environment many rare insects and birds live.

Enjoy seasonal food and drink

Visit Karlskrona’s farm shops during spring, when it is time for local farmers to deliver fresh delicacies such as the year’s first potatoes, asparagus, radishes and onions. These are the extras that will leave many foodies weak at the knees.

Askunga farm shop & café have their own breeding of red deer, walking in pastures just outside the farm shop.
