One of the most renowned and appreciated pianists and composers in the Nordic countries, Lars Jansson, is coming to Karlskrona on 31 October at 19.30!

Lars Jansson is one of the most renowned and appreciated pianists and composers in the Nordic region, with numerous recordings under his own name and regularly touring the world. Lars has also been a professor for 5 years in Denmark at the music conservatories in Aarhus and Esbjerg and in 2022 he received the Royal Academy of Music's Jazz Prize with the motivation. ‘For an artistry of great importance for Swedish jazz’.

‘Pianist Lars Jansson is awarded the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's Jazz Prize for his work as a jazz musician and composer and as an innovator of the piano trio's traditions, format and expression. Lars Jansson is a creative and highly distinctive musician whose chiselled and articulate phrasing and compositions interact on the deepest artistic levels. He has created his own personal language and expression where architectural balance and improvisational curiosity have formed a school for generations of pianists.’

Unit is Musik i Blekinge's permanent ensemble with over 4000 concerts and workshops under its belt. For almost 30 years, they have played with most of Sweden's jazz elite and many international guests. Since 1998, Unit consists of Niclas Höglind - guitar and Kristofer Johansson - drums as a permanent core and a frequent guest in the group is bassist Mattias Welin.
