Lecture at the Marine Museum: The Forgotten Fleet - The Riddarholm Ship
New findings about the Riddarholm wreck have come to the surface. Much of the documentation and material surrounding the Riddarholm wreck has never been published.
The research program "The Forgotten Fleet - Sweden's "blue" cultural heritage 1450-1850" maps, documents and studies the Swedish naval fleet. Altogether, there is information on approximately 785 ships, of which only a few have been archaeologically investigated and documented. Nevertheless, the ships form a central part of Swedish maritime history - a part that is largely forgotten and unknown today.
Researcher Niklas Eriksson has made a new reconstruction and interpretation of the ship and will tell you why the Riddarholm wreck is so interesting.
