Translator of Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk's works and author of thirteen novels of his own. Both Jan Henrik and the authors he takes on have been awarded numerous of literature's foremost prizes.
Jan Henrik Swahn, an author with roots in Karlskrona, takes us on a journey through the balance and challenges of being both an author and a translator.

In addition to Swahn's own novels, he has translated a multitude of books from languages as diverse as French, Greek, Polish, and Danish. During tonight's lecture, a lot of unexpected truths about literary translation are promised. But we also get to know the talented woman Clara Smitt (1863 - 1928) and her adventures as Jan Henrik tells us more about his latest novel, "The Water Healer".
