During the walk, an actor takes on the role of the commandant and takes you back to the city's beginnings. Follow the development through the centuries to today's Kristianopel. Hear about the early days of Avaskär, the city's military importance on the border between Sweden and Denmark, the founding of Kristianopel, about clever traders and merchants, life inside the city walls, dramatic events that shaped the place and much more. In a vivid and exciting way and with historical facts, everything is brought to life again.

Length of the walk: 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Location: Avaskär/Kristianopel (start at the parking lot just south of Avaskär Church/Chapel)
Start time: 3:00 p.m. (English) 5:00 p.m. (Swedish) NOTE: On July 28 & August 4 the starting time is 2:00 PM for the English tour and 4:00 PM for the Swedish tour.
