An evening at Den Halta Ankan or Bellman in Karlskrona
Visans vänner invites you to a two-act performance in which, through the music and poetry of C-M Bellman, they bring to life the atmosphere of a tavern in Karlskrona in the late 18th century. The performance will take place on October 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Karlskrona Concert Hall.
As far as we know, Carl Michael Bellman never visited Karlskrona, but we believe he would have felt right at home if he had come here during his lifetime. We are convinced that the descriptions of people’s celebrations and everyday life, the bustle of the city and its tavern life, friends’ romantic troubles, poverty, illness, and death that we encounter in Fredman’s epistles and songs could also apply to much of the social life in contemporary Karlskrona.
