The Ark is a Swedish glam rock band formed in 1991 in Rottne outside Växjö. The band consists of Ola Salo (vocals), Lars “Leari” Ljungberg (bass), Mikael Jepson (guitar), Martin Axén (guitar), Sylvester Schlegel (drums), and Jens Andersson (keyboard). Since their debut, The Ark has established itself as one of the most influential and charismatic groups in modern Swedish pop and rock history.

The band had their breakthrough in 2000 with the album We Are The Ark, which included the hit single It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane. The song was awarded a Grammis and became a generation-defining anthem for individuality and the right to be yourself.
In the following years, The Ark released a series of successful albums, including In Lust We Trust (2002), State of the Ark (2004), Prayer for the Weekend (2007), and In Full Regalia (2010).
