Emergency Preparedness Week 2025

Emergency Preparedness Week 2025

How prepared are you for a societal disruption? What is life like as a part-time firefighter? What is a safety point and what does a shelter look like? During Emergency Preparedness Week, week 39, you will get answers to these questions and much more! On Saturday, 20 September, you can meet a variety of different actors at Stortorget.

Preparedness Week is a themed week and communication initiative that takes place in week 39 every year. The week is led by MSB and carried out by many actors simultaneously with the aim of strengthening the resilience of residents. The theme for 2025 is ‘You are part of Sweden's total defence’.

In Karlskrona, a series of lectures, demonstrations and guided tours will be organised. The full programme can be found at karlskrona.se/beredskapsveckan.

On Monday 22 September at 7 p.m., you can attend Niklas Kämpargård's lecture ‘How prepared are you for a societal disruption?’. Niklas Kämpargård is a lecturer and trainer in crisis preparedness, cultivation and self-sufficiency.

On Wednesday 24 September at 7 p.m., Karlskrona Municipality's security manager Anders Wiklander and Kristina Brusebäck from the Skåne County Administrative Board/Civil Area South will give a lecture on the trip they made in April to Rzeszów in Poland and Lviv in Ukraine. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about how to work with both civil and military host nation support and total defence during wartime.

This Saturday, 20 September, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., there will be a demonstration by local actors at Stortorget and Klaipedaplatsen in central Karlskrona. There you will learn more about your role in Sweden's total defence, the activities of the various actors and what the programme for the coming week looks like.
