A knowledgeable and committed guide highlights exciting stories from Kristianopel's unparalleled history with eel fishermen, the mythical Sargosso Sea and beach riders who were the old border guards.

Sit down for a while on the liar's bench where old sailors and fishermen sat on many balmy summer evenings, telling stories and lying to each other while snuff boxes and drinks passed around. Listen to stories about beach riders, the bath house company, the rare cherry wine and about the schoolgirl who in 1893 had to choose between celibacy or divorce.

Kristianopel carries stories dating back several hundred years. Some contain only grains of truth and in other cases the reality surpasses the poem.

Time required: 1 hour. The walk is easy going and you will walk at a slow pace. Start at the stone wall outside the church.

Tickets are sold at the Karlskrona tourist center and online via Nortic.se, see the link below.
