Gold, bronze and glowing garnets adorned the women, the priestesses, who led the ceremonies at the festivals of the sun, thousands of years ago. One of these pieces of jewellery - a back button clasp - has been found at the ancient burial ground Store backe in Hallarum Jämjö. These powerful women acted as Freya's helpers. At Augerum church there are some ancient remains and in a boat grave there was a woman of high status. At Möckleryd there are Horsahallen's famous rock carvings. 240 images on the rock of ships, footprints, sun wheels, horses and riders, which testify to rituals, mythology, stories and ancient beliefs.
