Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon

Instructions for a Teenage Armageddon

A touching and insanely funny coming-of-age story.

After sold-out shows in London, the dramatic monologue now comes in a Swedish translation and staging. A touching, sharp, and insanely funny coming-of-age story about a girl who, despite everything, made it through her turbulent teenage years. We follow Eileen from ages thirteen to seventeen through her tumultuous metamorphosis. A journey that navigates how grief and trauma can leave their marks, about the loneliness and anger that take over, losing one's footing, and about love, sex, and new unwanted family members.

Eileen is thirteen when her sister passes away from anorexia. This catastrophe propels her into a time of tough, almost unbelievably brutal events. How do we navigate the chaos that the teenage years can be? How is it even possible, how do we manage, and above all – how does it shape the people we become? With a large dose of dark humor, Eileen describes her family, friends, and potential love interests to the audience. The Scouts also make an appearance.

The acclaimed text is written by the young British playwright Rosie Day. In this Swedish production, we will see Alexandra Nordberg (known from the Netflix series "Love & Anarchy") in the role of Eileen.
