Must do in Karlskrona during 6h

What shouldn't we miss when visiting Karlskrona for 6 hour?

Here we've gathered tips from our talented summer staff, who share ideas on what you can do if you're visiting Karlskrona for just 6 hour on a summer day.

  • If you have half a day in Karlskrona, we recommend starting with a guided walking tour of the city. In just 90 minutes, you’ll be taken through the World Heritage Site and hear the stories behind the city’s grand buildings, hidden alleys, and fascinating history. If you’d like to explore the city at your own pace, the self-guided walking tour along the Purple Route is an equally enjoyable option.

  • Continue your day with a visit to the Naval Museum or the Blekinge Museum to get to know Karlskrona in depth. The Naval Museum offers fascinating stories about the history of the Swedish Navy, while the Blekinge Museum takes you on a journey through the city’s cultural heritage and the people who have shaped it. If you visit the Naval Museum, I also recommend a refreshing dip at Stumholmen—and why not finish off with an ice cream at the restaurant next to the bridge?
  • Then take the boat to Brändaholm, one of Karlskrona’s most idyllic spots. The colorful summer cottages, blooming gardens, and peaceful archipelago setting make the area a true summer favorite. On the way there or back, it’s the perfect opportunity to stop by Blomlöfs Fisk & Skaldjur on Saltö and enjoy a truly delicious lunch with the sea right next door.

  • If you want to experience Karlskrona’s archipelago up close, a kayaking trip is hard to beat. Rent a kayak and paddle among the islands, islets, and coves at your own pace. Bring a picnic basket or stop on one of the islands for lunch in one of Sweden’s most beautiful archipelago settings. It’s one of the best ways to truly get close to nature.
  • Another one of our top tips is to explore Karlskrona from the saddle of a bike. Rent a bike and set out on the popular “Karlskrona Runt” trail, an approximately 35-kilometer ride that takes you through the city, along the coast, and through scenic countryside. Along the way, you’ll pass ocean views, green spaces, cultural sites, and several perfect spots for a coffee break or picnic. Don’t miss Bryggareberget either—one of Karlskrona’s most beautiful vantage points, offering a panoramic view of the city center, the archipelago, and the inlet.

  • End the day with a trip to Hasslö—the archipelago island that many call “Little Hawaii.” Here you’ll find shallow sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and a relaxing archipelago setting. Take the ferry from Handelshamnen and enjoy a day filled with swimming, sun, and tranquility. For those who want to find their own secluded spot, there are also plenty of small swimming coves and cliffs around the island where you can enjoy the peace and quiet.
