Quilty – traditional Irish music
21 September 2025 Quilty performs at Karlskrona Konserthusteater!
Emigrant songs, sea shanties and ballads about unusual life stories and grand adventures at sea and not least the captivating reels and jigs form the backbone of this splendid concert programme of Irish folk songs as a celebration of love, diversity and richness of life.
The music group Quilty was formed in 1993 and over the years the band has established itself as Sweden's foremost representative of Irish folk music. With their personalised arrangements, musical virtuosity and resonant vocals, they have left their mark on traditional Irish music and have enjoyed great success on their tours and in concert collaborations with choirs and symphony orchestras across the country.
In 2020, Quilty was nominated for the award Band of the Year.
In 2023, Quilty celebrated its 30th anniversary with an acclaimed tour of Sweden in the company of
Andy Irvine, one of Ireland's most acclaimed folk music icons and a role model for Quilty.
In spring 2025, Quilty & Andy Irvine toured the UK and Ireland.
"Those who were lucky enough to be in The Seantí last night were treated to possibly the best show we've ever had here. ... The night ended with a thoroughly deserved standing ovation. Andy along with Quilty gave a performance that won't easily be bettered or forgotten here at The Seantí. We sincerely can't wait for their return."
