Visit the Sloop and Longboat Shed at the Naval Museum

Visit one of the most unique buildings of Karlskrona this summer!

The Sloop and Longboat Shed, which todays is a part of the Naval Museum, finished its construction in 1787. It was built to store the smaller boats, during a time when the Swedish Navy was expanding more than ever.

In the Sloop and Longboat Shed there are ten barque ships from the 19th century that belongs to the Naval Museum, and that are still being sailed by Carlskrona Båteskader. The shed also stores the royal barge that was built in 1844, and a collapsible lifeboat that was used by Swedish submarines during the early 20th century.

The Sloop and Longboat Shed is open for visitors all summer.
