Young Baltic translators workshop
Young translators from the Baltic region are translating and reading aloud new Baltic Sea literature at Litorina Folk High School. Six translators from Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden.
From October 8 to October 11, Litorina Folk High School will host the “Young Baltic Translators Workshop.”
During the event, the school will host three exciting workshops.
Thursday, October 8, 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Festival opening. Klaus-Jürgen Liedtke will read his German-to-Swedish translation of Harry Martinson’s *När nässlorna blommar* (When the Nettles Bloom). Litorina Auditorium. 1:00 p.m.
- Slideshow by and featuring artist Hanna Sjöberg: “At the Water’s Edge: Memories of the Baltic Sea during the Cold War.” Litorina Auditorium.
Saturday, October 10, 4:00 p.m.
- Reading of literature translated during the festival, with a focus on Polish literature. Litorina Folk High School – Baltic Sea Library.
