EOC in Dog Freestyle 2026
Sweden has been selected to host the European Open Championship (EOC) in dog freestyle in 2026. The championship will be held on September 10 - 13, 2026 in Brinova Arena, Karlskrona, and is expected to attract participants and spectators from all over Europe.
Dog freestyle is a dog sport where the dog's performance to music is judged, and each program is unique. Some programs tell a story, others are more dance-like, but the focus is always on the dog's cooperation with the handler.
During the European Championship, participants compete in two events: Freestyle, where the dog does free tricks to music, and Heelwork to Music (HtM), where the dog is close to the handler in different positions. New is that there are now also team events, junior championships for young handlers and a biathlon for those who compete in both freestyle and HtM.
