Fredrik´s church

The building of The Fredrik's church started in 1720 after drawings from the most famous architect at that point in Sweden, Nicodemus Tessin the younger. In the spring of 2018, the church was reinvented after extensive renovation. The church is now one of the most modern in Sweden.

It took almost 24 years before the baroque church was inaugurated in the presence of the Swedish Crown Prince Adolf Fredrik. In 1720, the construction of Fredrikskyrkan was started at Stortorget in Karlskrona following drawings by Sweden's former chief architect, Nicodemus Tessin d.y. The church got its name from the King Fredrik I. The church is situated in the heart of Karlskrona, on the big town square.
