Wreck cemetery at Sturkö
In the strait (Djupasund) between the islands Sturkö and Tjurkö is a historical treasure in the form of shipwrecks.
A wreck area with about 20 ships from about 1550-1650 that was deliberately sunk as a barrier towards Karlskrona in the late 17th century. Most today are coincident but can be seen when diving. A project is underway 2021-2023 to map the wrecks and to possibly. make the diving site accessible with signs etc. Read more about the project in the link below.
